Meal and Concert to support GLRC

NEGAUNEE –An up-and-coming promising music star will headline a fundraiser benefit concert in October for Great Lakes Recovery Centers.

Ashlyn Roskowski, along with her band The Breakers, will perform on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Strega Nonna in Negaunee. Their performance will be part of a festive evening to help raise money for GLRC’s Compassionate Care Fund.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with a scrumptious buffet occurring from 6 to 7 p.m. Then, Ashlyn will hit the stage for a set and then will be joined by her band in the second set. The Compassionate Care Fund provides invaluable resources for those uninsured, underinsured or lack the financial ability to access GLRC services. In 2025, some 89 clients from across the Upper Peninsula accessed the fund to received much-needed services.

Coupled with the 19th Annual Run for Recovery held in September, GLRC is optimistic it will raise in excess of $25,000 to replenish the fund.

“We’re so thankful to Rachel Grossman at Strega Nonna to again work with us on this benefit concert,” said Greg Toutant, executive director of Great Lakes Recovery Centers. “We look forward to a night of taste-temping food and quality entertainment.”

Added Jim LaJoie, chief development officer for GLRC: “For those who haven’t seen Ashlyn perform, you’re in for a treat. She is incredibly talented and promises to deliver a terrific concert.”

A silent auction will also be held at the event, with prizes ranging from restaurant gift certificates to tickets to an upcoming Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings football game.
