Loss Team

LOSS Team provides resources, support, connection, and understanding to suicide survivors immediately after a suicide loss and for the months and years that follow. The Central Upper Peninsula LOSS Team is a vital and impactful service within Delta, Dickinson, Iron, and Marquette Counties.

A team consists of two or more trained volunteers who are activated by the local authorities when there is a suspected suicide loss. This program is an active peer model of postvention made up of a team of trained survivors and professionals working together as LOSS team volunteers.

Volunteers

The heart of the LOSS Team is its volunteers.  Volunteers can serve in several different capacities from maintaining a database of volunteers, providing support at the scene of a suicide, making follow-up phone calls and more.

Donate or Sponsor

The LOSS Team is made up of community volunteers, however there are many needs of the program including funds for mileage, LOSS Team Member apparel to wear at a scene, bags with various supplies to take to the scene and more.  It is also imperitive to have a paid staff person that acts as a lead to ensure the program is done with fidelity.
